About Limited Company Pensions

LimitedCompanyPensions.co.uk is an independent information site for UK limited company directors who want to understand their pension options.

The site focuses particularly on company pension contributions, SIPPs, pension tax rules and the choices directors face when deciding how to use profits generated by their businesses.

Why we created the site

Pensions can become surprisingly complicated for limited company directors.

There are questions around employer and personal contributions, corporation tax relief, annual allowances, carry forward, salary and dividends, as well as the different types of pension available.

Limited Company Pensions was created to provide a straightforward resource dedicated to these issues, rather than requiring directors to piece together information written for employees, employers and individual pension savers.

Our aim is to explain the rules clearly, show how they apply to owner-managed companies and provide practical information directors can use when considering their options.

Who runs Limited Company Pensions?

LimitedCompanyPensions.co.uk is run by James Leckie and published by Contract Eye Ltd.

James has been publishing information for UK contractors, freelancers and small business owners for more than 25 years. He also owns and edits ITContracting.com, which specialises in contracting and limited company issues, and ByteStart.co.uk, a long-established small business information site.

Limited Company Pensions follows the same approach: a focused site covering one subject in enough detail to make a complicated area easier to understand.

Editorial independence

Our editorial content is written to help readers understand how pensions work for limited company directors. Where we have a commercial relationship with a pension provider, investment platform or other business, we will make this clear.

Financial advice

LimitedCompanyPensions.co.uk provides general information and does not provide personal financial, pension, tax or investment advice.

Pensions are long-term financial products and the tax treatment and suitability of different options depend on individual circumstances. If you need advice about what you should do with your own pension or investments, you should speak to a suitably qualified financial adviser.
